Unexplained Infertility

Approximately one third of cases of infertility are categorised by Western fertility specialists as “unexplained”.
In Chinese medicine, diagnosis is not about giving a name to a disease process, but rather works on the basis of treating the individual according to their particular presentation. A picture of imbalances and disturbances is built up from the history and the symptoms and signs. This means that women with unexplained infertility can be treated effectively even without a Western diagnosis or a name for why they cannot get pregnant.
The overall impression may reveal kidney Yin or Yang deficiency, Liver Qi stagnation, blood deficiency or stagnation, Heart-fire, heat or damp in the system, or a mixture of two or more of these disturbances. Using Acupuncture and/or Chinese Herbs in conjunction with dietary and lifestyle adjustments, all of these disturbances can be improved, resulting in a healthier woman, man or couple, and greatly increasing the likelihood of conception.
